How to Clean Glasses

It is important to clean your glasses properly to keep them in long-lasting condition. Here are the steps we recommend:

1. Wash your hands thoroughly: Start by washing your hands thoroughly with mild soap and water to remove any dirt or oils that could transfer to the lenses. 
2. Rinse your glasses under tap water: Avoid using hot water, as it may damage lens coatings or frame materials.
3. Apply lotion-free, ammonia-free dish soap to each lens: Gently rub the soap across the entire surface of each lens, including the edges and nose pads, using your fingertips. 
4. Rinse the lenses and frames thoroughly: Rinse the lenses and frames thoroughly under running water to remove all traces of soap residue. Shake off any excess water.
5. Dry the lenses and frames with a lint-free cloth: This is the most important in the cleaning process. If you dry your glasses on a rough towel, it can scratch or warp the lens and/or anti-reflective coating. 
6. Inspect the lenses and wipe away any remaining smudges: Be gentle during this process to avoid scratching the lenses. Keep in mind that the clearest lenses (Trivex and Hi-index) are so clear, that you are more likely to see streaks or smudge marks.

How to Store Eyeglasses 

It’s best to store your eyeglasses indoors, at room temperature in an enclosed case or box. When placing the glasses in the case, ensure they are positioned with the lenses facing upward to avoid potential scratching. If you don’t wear your glasses every day, you don’t want them to be exposed to extreme heat. This will warp the frame and anti-reflective treatment. 

If your glasses are indoors, make sure they are safely enclosed so dust doesn’t collect on them. Also, babies and fur babies, especially love glasses. Frames can sadly not be warranted if there are teeth marks on them. So protect and enclose those frames, and keep them out of reach of little hands (and paws).
